Associate Learning Designer

About the role

The Associate Learning Designer (ALD) supports the creation, implementation and continuous improvement of learning solutions that meet business and performance needs. Working under senior designers, the ALD applies foundational instructional design principles and learning technologies to deliver engaging, learner‑centered experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and update learning assets, assessments and supporting materials using established templates and standards.
• Produce digital learning content with approved authoring tools while applying Manulife branding, accessibility and development guidelines.
• Execute assigned design tasks on schedule, participate in quality assurance, testing and revision cycles, and raise risks or dependencies as needed.
• Collaborate with Learning Designers, SMEs and business stakeholders, incorporate feedback and contribute to design discussions.
• Build foundational skills in instructional design, digital authoring, project management and business acumen to prepare for future independent designer roles.

• Strong written, verbal and visual communication abilities and a collaborative mindset.
• High attention to detail, organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated learning agility, curiosity and commitment to continuous professional development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams.
• Experience with e‑learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, Vyond or Camtasia.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and online learning environments.
• Ability to work with AI‑enabled tools for content creation and quality assurance.
