Accounting Manager (Remote)

About the role

We are a fractional CFO/COO firm supporting fast‑growing startups and small businesses. We are looking for an Accounting Manager to serve as a dedicated resource for an emerging ad‑tech client. The role oversees daily accounting operations, improves processes, and lays the foundation for future FP&A responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily entries for AP, AR, payroll, reimbursements and operating expenses.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries, manage month‑end close and resolve discrepancies.
• Own bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Produce monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Manage invoicing, contract‑based billing, AR aging and vendor payments.
• Maintain cash visibility, assist short‑term cash forecasting and support cash‑flow analysis.
• Optimize accounting workflows and automate using tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, Ramp and Airbase.
• Strengthen financial controls and pursue a zero‑day close.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and KPI reporting.

Required profile

• 4‑7+ years of accounting experience covering GL, reconciliations, AR/AP and month‑end close.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with U.S.‑based companies.
• Excellent English communication, high attention to detail and ability to work U.S. business hours.
