About the role
The Tax Accountant reports to the Tax Manager and supports Middle East compliance activities, focusing on taxation and statutory financial audits. The role requires independent work within established guidelines to produce and analyse financial and tax information.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare tax calculations, reconciliations and verify material transactions against source documents.
- Ensure timely completion of direct and indirect tax filings and related administrative tasks.
- Maintain final returns, working files and related documents on SharePoint or shared drives.
- Act as the primary contact for auditors during tax audits of assigned entities.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting assigned entities and update tax and audit calendars.
- Assist in corporate income tax return preparation, filing and deferred tax calculations.
- Prepare analyses and schedules required for tax inspections.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Tax Manager.
Required profile
- CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2‑3 years of relevant experience with a Big 4 firm or multinational organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS; familiarity with Middle East tax laws is a plus.
Required skills
- CA/CPA certification.
- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
