Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to provide comprehensive tax support for our clients, including individual tax returns, small‑business returns and BAS lodgements. The role requires a strong grasp of Australian tax legislation and the ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge client financial statements and tax returns for individuals and small‑to‑medium businesses.
• Ensure timely lodgement of IAS and BAS returns with the ATO.
• Reconcile and review accounts promptly.
• Assist with business budgeting and cash‑flow management.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the accounting team as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years of public‑practice experience in Australian Income Tax and GST.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High attention to detail, strong problem‑solving ability and the capacity to work independently.
• Willingness to work Australian business hours.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Australian Tax System and legislation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Advanced use of Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Calendar.
• Experience with Xero accounting software (preferred).
