Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water Utilities

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Water team, delivering carbon‑neutral and sustainable water infrastructure across South East Queensland. Based in the Brisbane office, you will work on medium to large‑scale projects for government agencies and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to detailed mechanical design for water infrastructure projects.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to routine tasks and support resolution of complex technical challenges.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, ensuring clear communication with internal teams and clients.
• Support project delivery for key SE QLD water clients, aligning with client requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design for water infrastructure projects.
• Experience in fluid hydraulics, water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, or pipework design.
• Proven background in design consulting or engineering services within the water utilities sector.
