Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online expertise

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support our restaurant clients. You will work remotely with a collaborative finance team, handling daily bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure accurate financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, categorize expenses, and manage the general ledger daily in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and third‑party delivery app transactions.
• Process and track vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate accounts payable.
• Monitor restaurant‑specific metrics, especially food & beverage (COGS) and labor costs.
• Perform month‑end closing, reconcile bank and credit‑card statements, and generate basic P&L reports for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
• Available 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with a growth mindset.

Required skills

• Strong practical experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Familiarity with connecting QBO to restaurant POS systems such as Toast, Clover, or Square (a plus).
• Solid understanding of restaurant‑specific finances, including tips, vendor management, and food costs.
