QS Unit Manager

About the role

The Quantity Survey (QS) Unit Manager will lead a team of QS professionals to deliver cost‑effective solutions for construction projects in the Philippines and Singapore. Reporting to the local manager in the Philippines and the QS unit head in Singapore, the role ensures accurate cost control, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the client in overseeing quantity surveying works on assigned projects locally and in Singapore.
• Maintain and update cost databases for both Philippine and Singapore markets.
• Coordinate communication among project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
• Facilitate progress meetings, manage weekly and monthly progress claims, and document key actions and decisions.
• Identify project changes, evaluate contractual risks, and develop contingency plans.
• Monitor project progress, flag contractual claim issues, and propose schedule or strategy adjustments.
• Prepare regular status reports, valuations, and final accounts.
• Review weekly and monthly contract reports, including cost and change analysis.
• Mentor junior surveyors and manage a team of QS personnel to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Support procurement strategies, risk analysis, and commercial risk responses.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Proven experience in construction project management or a similar QS role.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
• Willingness to work on a project‑base status and be stationed in Manila for the assignment.
