About the role

The Operator I position supports Microchip’s manufacturing operations by ensuring smooth shift transitions, monitoring process quality, and handling lot documentation. This entry‑level role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands‑on work in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 6S activities before and after each shift, either manually or with semi‑automatic tools.
• Monitor processes using visual checks, statistical process control (SPC), and sampling tests according to specifications.
• Enter and verify transaction data for the assigned workstation.
• Account for lot quantities, categorize rejected parts, and maintain accurate records.
• Make decisions based on existing specifications and criteria.
• Follow standard operating procedures, highlight safety or quality issues, and perform additional tasks as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliability and regular attendance; willingness to wear required protective equipment.
• Adaptability to frequent changes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency.
• Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) methods.
• Understanding of 6S lean manufacturing principles.
