Junior Design Engineer (Hybrid, Manila)

About the role

Weir is seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join our Manila team on a hybrid basis. You will support the creation of 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for ESCO products such as excavator buckets, loaders, and truck trays, while contributing to a safety‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero‑harm safety behaviors.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings according to defined standards.
• Prepare work instructions, documentation, and ensure compliance with fabrication, engineering, and welding standards.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and assist with design validation and FEA preparation.
• Support senior engineers in simulation and analysis activities.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams; respond to fabrication queries.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Maximum 2 years of relevant experience or recent graduate.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D parametric CAD software – preferably Siemens NX.
• Familiarity with Agile PLM and Teamcenter product lifecycle tools.
• Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) concepts.
• Experience with Magma Simu or similar simulation software.
