Fixed Income Trader

About the role

The Fixed Income Trader is responsible for monitoring market movements and identifying investment opportunities across money market, capital markets, debt/bond, and currency markets for trust and fiduciary accounts. The role supports portfolio managers by executing trades, providing analysis, and maintaining up‑to‑date market information.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze stock prices, interest rates, and exchange rates to spot trading opportunities for trust accounts.
• Execute trading transactions, record them in the system, and prepare trading orders for Trust Operations.
• Manage specific UITFs and equities portfolios of assigned regular trust accounts.
• Canvas rates from financial institutions for money market placements, time deposits, Treasury bills, government securities, and bonds, and present options to portfolio managers.
• Research and analyze potential investment outlets, providing recommendations to the Division Head and portfolio managers.
• Develop relationships with counterparties and negotiate buy‑sell transactions for equities, bonds, commercial papers, deposits, notes, and government securities.
• Monitor corporate actions such as dividends, stock rights, IPOs, and advise portfolio managers accordingly.
• Coordinate with Credit Management on renewal of money market lines and stockbroker accreditation.
• Confirm daily closing quotations for various instruments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or Industrial Management Engineering.
• Working knowledge of investment markets and products, including money market, equities, bonds, deposits, foreign exchange, and derivatives.
