Civil Engineer – Flood & Hydrology Specialist

About the role

Join Aurecon's Water Team in Manila as a Flooding & Hydrology Engineer, working on flood assessment for major transport, land, water and dam infrastructure projects, primarily in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver flood assessments for major transport (roads and rail) and water infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical queries and develop optimal engineering solutions.
• Conduct waterways investigations, pit and pipe network design, and overland flood studies.
• Support projects in Western Australia and Northern Territory and potentially other geographies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years experience in flood modelling and drainage design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to collaborate and share knowledge within the team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 2D HEC‑RAS or TUFLOW.
• Experience with GIS tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo.
• Understanding of hydrology principles.
• Familiarity with Water Resources software (GOLDSIM, AWBM) and Hydrology tools (RORB, RAFTS, ISLAX).
• Knowledge of 12d and DRAINS software is an advantage.
