Building Engineer

About the role

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance and repair of building systems in Manila. The role involves ensuring plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, painting and fire‑life safety systems meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life‑safety and control systems.
• Ensure all building systems comply with applicable codes, regulations and company safety directives.
• Maintain and improve an energy‑management program to maximize system efficiency.
• Assist in implementing a preventive‑maintenance schedule and conduct emergency repairs as needed.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing and other systems to verify proper operation and environmental conditions.
• Coach and share knowledge with team members while modeling CBRE RISE values.
• Handle hazardous materials safely according to departmental policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, GED or trade school diploma with 4‑5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Universal CFC certification preferred; other certifications/licenses as required by local regulations.
• Prior supervisory or shift‑management experience preferred.
• Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders and lift/carry loads of 50 lb or more.
• Strong judgment and analytical skills, with willingness to consider new perspectives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of building‑systems maintenance and repair.
• Universal CFC certification (preferred).
