AU Tax Accountant – Remote (Australia Tax Experience Required)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AU Tax Accountant to provide comprehensive accounting services for our Australian client base. The role is primarily remote, with occasional on‑site training sessions, and offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Review client bookkeeping and provide assistance as required.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Single Touch Payroll (STP) finalisation reports.
• Compile annual financial statements, cash‑flow reports, balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial management reports.
• Prepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies and SMSFs.
• Execute month‑end closing activities, including journal entries.
• Develop budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and perform related analysis.
• Maintain and reconcile client ledgers, resolving discrepancies proactively.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with CPA qualification.
• Demonstrated experience with Australian tax regulations.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Stable internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
