Supervisor - Observability & Tooling

About the role

Supervise and manage the Cloud Observability Engineering team and the ServiceNow Administration/Development team, driving strategy, execution and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the Cloud Observability Engineering team and the ServiceNow Administration/Development team, setting priorities, assigning work and acting as the primary escalation point.
• Define and oversee the strategy, design and operation of observability platforms such as Coralogix, Quickwit and CloudWatch, ensuring consistent instrumentation, metric quality and cost‑effective cardinality management.
• Guide the use of OpenTelemetry, context propagation and distributed tracing across cloud, container and Kubernetes environments.
• Administer and develop ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM workflows, custom applications and integrations while maintaining platform governance and upgrade planning.
• Collaborate with engineering, SRE, platform and business stakeholders to define alerting standards, dashboards, SLO/SLA frameworks and translate process requirements into platform capabilities.
• Report on team performance, platform health and key initiatives to leadership and participate in budgeting, roadmap and vendor discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience supervising or leading technical teams in observability, SRE, platform engineering or ITSM.
• Strong understanding of observability fundamentals (metrics, traces, logs) and cloud technologies, containers and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cardinality management and its impact on telemetry cost and performance.
• Experience with ServiceNow administration/development (ITSM/ITOM workflows, platform governance).
