Senior Finance Associate – AP Invoice Processing

About the role

Under the supervision of the Chief, Global Shared Services Centre Finance Hub and the Finance Officer, the Senior Finance Associate – AP Invoice Processing will manage accounts payable invoice processing across assigned regions and missions, ensuring quality, compliance and timely payments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor AP invoice processing activities across assigned regions and missions.
• Perform second‑level review, validation and quality control of AP transactions, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements.
• Resolve invoice holds, matching exceptions, tax discrepancies and other processing issues, escalating when necessary.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and training to AP processing staff and third‑party contractors.
• Monitor processing volumes, turnaround times and service quality, and report issues to the supervisor.
• Support AP process rollout, documentation and knowledge sharing during transition from missions to the GSSC.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with at least four years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with six years of experience; CPA is an advantage.
• Experience with accounting, financial management, internal controls and familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle.
• Experience in UN system or international/multicultural environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IOM Financial Management Rules and Procedures.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills for reviewing financial information and reconciling discrepancies.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
