Security Manager

About the role

RELX is seeking a Security Manager to lead its security function in Manila. The role combines team leadership, customer trust engagement, risk governance and day‑to‑day security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage security resources across RELX/ELS/REPH/RETS, defining roles, responsibilities and priorities.
• Recruit, onboard, coach and develop team members, managing performance and career growth.
• Communicate security vision, set standards for excellence and motivate the team to high performance.
• Respond to customer security inquiries using knowledge bases, generative AI tools and subject‑matter expertise.
• Lead customer‑initiated audits, coordinating GRC, security engineering and product teams.
• Build product security narratives, complete RFPs and customer assessments with accuracy.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with third‑party service providers and operational activities.
• Define and publish KPIs to measure effectiveness of security processes and controls.
• Oversee day‑to‑day security operations including incident, vulnerability, change and compliance management.
• Review change requests with a security lens and ensure continuous control effectiveness.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of security principles, frameworks (ISO 27001/2, ISO 27017/18, ISO 22301, ISO 42001) and regulatory requirements such as SOX.
• 8+ years of IT experience with at least 4 years in information security.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years of direct people‑management experience, including coaching and performance management.
• Proven ability to handle customer security inquiries, audits and Trust Centre operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
