PMS Technician I – Entry Level Elevator Maintenance

About the role

The PMS Technician I supports preventive maintenance and basic service activities for elevator systems under direct supervision of senior technicians. This entry‑level position focuses on learning standard maintenance procedures, safety practices, basic troubleshooting, and proper documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in scheduled preventive maintenance (PMS) activities and basic equipment inspections.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, tightening, and minor adjustments as instructed.
• Support senior technicians during troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections.
• Observe and immediately report abnormal conditions such as unusual noises, vibrations, odors, error codes, or irregular operation.
• Help prepare and complete service reports, checklists, and maintenance logs.
• Strictly follow company safety procedures, lock‑out/tag‑out practices, and housekeeping standards.
• Assist in monitoring the validity of permits and certificates (PTI, PTO) and prepare units for regulatory inspections.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn standard elevator maintenance procedures.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components of elevators.
• Commitment to safety practices and accurate documentation.
• Ability to work under direct supervision of senior technicians.

Required skills

• Inspection of basic mechanical components (door operators, rollers, guide shoes, linkages).
• Visual and continuity checks of electrical connections.
• Familiarity with elevator safety devices (limit switches, buffers, emergency stop, basic safety circuits).
• Knowledge of lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
