Fully-funded Interdisciplinary Data Science PhD in Berlin

About the role

The Helmholtz Einstein International Berlin Research School (HEIBRiDS) invites highly motivated graduates to join a fully‑funded PhD program in Data Science at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin. You will conduct independent research at the intersection of data science and molecular medicine, working within an interdisciplinary and international community.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement machine learning, deep learning, explainable AI and large language model solutions for complex biomedical and environmental datasets.
• Perform mathematical and statistical modelling of multi‑modal data.
• Analyse and interpret data across domains such as molecular medicine, energy, environment, geosciences and astronomy.
• Collaborate with researchers from Helmholtz centers and partner universities.
• Contribute to international research projects, present findings at conferences and publish in scientific journals.
• Participate in the structured training and qualification program offered by HEIBRiDS.
