Field and Emergency Communications Specialist

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Field and Emergency Communications Specialist for its Mindanao Field Office in Davao City. The role focuses on gathering, developing, and delivering evidence‑based content that highlights the challenges and successes of vulnerable children and families, as well as the impact of World Vision’s development and emergency programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Collect field and emergency communications content to support ministry, public engagement, and resource development goals.
• Use World Vision platforms such as Content Flow, StoryHub, wvrelief.net, and emergency Skype chat rooms to coordinate with clients and deliver raw content (Q&As, alerts, news stories, videos, photos, media visits, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with internal teams including Operations, Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs, and Resource Development to gather ministry and fundraising‑related material.
• Assist the Field & Emergency Communications Officer with content and disaster‑risk‑reduction communications within the assigned area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support field and emergency communication efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Development, Mass Communications, Journalism or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably with news/media agencies, advertising, or NGO humanitarian work.
• Experience in disaster or emergency contexts is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, reporting and presentation abilities.
• Excellent media engagement skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Security training and willingness to travel within the country to support media and influencer visits.
