Emergency Medical Doctor

About the role

The Emergency Medical Doctor provides immediate, life‑saving care to patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, pediatric, or obstetric emergencies. Working in a fast‑paced emergency department, the physician rapidly assesses, stabilises, and coordinates treatment to optimise patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose a wide range of critical conditions, including heart attacks, strokes, fractures, and infections.
• Perform life‑saving interventions such as intubation, medication administration, chest tube placement, and minor procedures.
• Coordinate care with nurses, paramedics, and specialist teams to ensure comprehensive treatment.
• Make decisive decisions regarding patient discharge, admission, or the need for surgery.
• Conduct rapid assessment and triage to prioritise care based on severity.

Required profile

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS (renewal as per guidelines).
• Demonstrated competence in rapid patient assessment, trauma and resuscitation care, and emergency procedures.
• Experience managing acute medical, surgical, pediatric, and obstetric emergencies.
