Cyber Defence Analyst

About the role

CyberOne is looking for a passionate and driven Cyber Defender to join its Security Operations Center (SOC). This entry‑level position is designed for individuals eager to break into cybersecurity, with a strong interest in detecting and responding to cyber threats. You will act as the first line of defense for clients, monitoring alerts, analysing potential threats, containing risks, and escalating incidents as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Actively monitor and manage security event queues, identifying and investigating potential threats and incidents.
• Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls and communications.
• Conduct initial analysis of security alerts and gather relevant information for escalation.
• Provide timely, accurate responses to customer inquiries while maintaining high service standards.
• Document incidents and actions taken in a clear, comprehensive manner.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure coordinated incident response.
• Stay informed about current cybersecurity threats, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Participate in regular training and development sessions to enhance technical and professional skills.

Required profile

• Ability to quickly assess and prioritize incidents in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, and network monitoring tools is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of ITIL practices; relevant certifications (SC200, CompTIA Security+, CCNA) are desirable but not mandatory.
