Gender Expert (Consultant)

About the role

Clean Air Asia is seeking a Gender Expert on a consultancy basis to support the establishment of a Lower Mekong Regional Hub for Clean Air. The consultant will work with partners in Thailand, Lao PDR and Cambodia to integrate gender considerations into air-quality policies, capacity-building activities and regional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing national and regional air-quality policies through a gender lens and identify gaps.
• Develop gender-responsive recommendations for policy frameworks, capacity-building programmes and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide technical guidance and training to government agencies and NGOs on gender mainstreaming in climate and air-pollution initiatives.
• Support the design of monitoring and evaluation tools that capture gender-disaggregated data.
• Contribute to project reports, knowledge-sharing platforms and advocacy materials.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in gender studies, social sciences, environmental policy or related field.
• Proven experience in gender mainstreaming within climate change, air-quality or sustainable development projects.
• Familiarity with the policy context of Thailand, Lao PDR and Cambodia is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills.
