Internal Auditor – Store

About the role

The Internal Auditor – Store is responsible for conducting financial, operational, inventory, and compliance audits across multiple store locations. This role ensures adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls while supporting risk assessment, fraud detection, and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits at store sites.
• Assess risks related to cash handling, inventory, sales transactions, refunds, and promotions.
• Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and potential fraud, and provide improvement recommendations.
• Analyze store metrics (refunds, discounts, voided transactions, inventory variances) to detect anomalies and trends.
• Conduct ad‑hoc reviews and assist in fraud investigations.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to store management and senior leadership.
• Track corrective‑action implementation and ensure compliance.
• Support cross‑functional projects and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate audit documentation and stay updated on relevant legislation and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• CPA, CIA or similar certification preferred, or progress toward certification.
• Approximately 13 years of experience in internal audit, store audit, or retail operations review.
• Experience in financial, inventory, operations, compliance, and fraud‑investigation audits.
• Background in retail, FMCG, or multi‑branch business audits is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work onsite at the head office and travel to store locations.
