CAD Designer

About the role

Outsourcey is looking for a skilled CAD Designer to join our growing team. You will translate concepts, sketches, and prototypes into production‑ready CAD files that drive our custom furniture and consumer product projects.

Key responsibilities

• Convert verbal concepts, rough sketches, and physical prototypes into fully dimensioned CAD models (SolidWorks or equivalent).
• Specify materials, generate accurate cut lists, and document tolerances and joinery for CNC operators and fabricators.
• Iterate designs based on prototype feedback and update drawings throughout the development cycle.
• Create clear assembly instructions and diagrams for end‑customers.
• Produce 3D renders and short demo videos for marketing and pre‑sales use.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or a comparable parametric CAD platform.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating product drawings that have been built into physical products.
• Understanding of CNC routing, woodworking shop workflows, and metalworking processes.
• Knowledge of wood species, MDF, composites, and mixed materials relevant to custom consumer products.
• Experience creating 3D renders or short videos using KeyShot, Blender, or built‑in CAD rendering tools.
• Ability to work independently, ask clarifying questions, and develop build‑ready files with minimal supervision.
