US Real Estate Accountant (Remote, Full‑Time Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking a Philippines‑based US accountant with solid real‑estate experience to support fast‑growing US companies, brokerages, and CPA firms. This full‑time independent contractor role focuses on delivering clean month‑ends, accurate reconciliations, and actionable financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end bookkeeping for real‑estate clients, including brokerages, property‑management firms, and investors.
• Process HUD statements, commissions, and other real‑estate‑specific transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheets, bank, credit‑card, and loan accounts.
• Prepare monthly P&L, balance‑sheet, and cash‑flow reports with variance analysis and plain‑English commentary.
• Support client onboarding by reviewing prior financials and establishing structured bookkeeping processes.
• Standardize checklists, month‑end calendars, and SOPs; recommend and implement automation tools.
• Process payroll accurately and assist with tax and compliance preparation as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of US accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably with real‑estate clients.
• Ability to work exclusively as a full‑time contractor and communicate effectively with US‑based teams.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (required).
• Familiarity with Xero, Bill.com, or similar AP/AR automation tools.
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, reporting).
