Tax Manager – Philippines

About the role

The Tax Manager is a key member of Unilever's global tax operations, reporting to the Regional Tax Director and supporting the local finance team in the Philippines. The role ensures compliance with all statutory tax obligations, drives tax planning initiatives, and contributes to an effective tax rate for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advice to business units on the impact of decisions, transactions and day‑to‑day operations.
• Supervise corporate income tax, fringe benefit tax and VAT compliance, including cash tax payment monitoring.
• Support the Tax Director in tax planning, lobbying and implementation of global and regional projects.
• Manage tax audits, controversies and related risk reporting.
• Oversee people management and budget control for the tax function.
• Collaborate with shared services and outsourced providers to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax legislation and international tax principles.
• Experience in supervising tax compliance teams and coordinating with external service providers.
• Ability to analyse tax implications of corporate structures, M&A activities and cross‑border transactions.
• Excellent communication skills to build relationships with finance, business and global tax teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial consolidation software.
