Systems Configuration and Release Specialist

About the role

The Systems Configuration and Release Specialist will own the deployment and configuration of application and system releases, both manual and automated. This role coordinates release schedules, ensures proper documentation, and works closely with development, support, and client teams to deliver reliable updates and upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance to teams on release and configuration processes and requirements.
• Coordinate deployment schedules, secure necessary approvals, and gather configuration details.
• Review release instructions for applicability and perform deployments across various environments.
• Develop and improve release implementation and back‑out plans, and contribute to risk assessments.
• Set up and configure web, application, and database servers according to architecture specifications.
• Address server and application vulnerability issues and perform security patching and hardening.
• Execute live production releases and ensure compliance with approved implementation plans.
• Communicate any failed releases, manage back‑out procedures, and propose permanent solutions.
• Act as an escalation point for unresolved issues in non‑production and production environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system/server administration, application development, or release and configuration management.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with AWS, focusing on configuration and release management.
