Senior Technical Advisor, Surveillance Strengthening

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor to lead the surveillance strengthening component of the STRIDES activity in the Philippines. The role will guide epidemiology and disease‑surveillance efforts, ensuring they meet national and international standards while supporting the U.S. Global Health Security program.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, implementation and quality improvement of epidemiology and surveillance activities across the STRIDES project.
• Align technical frameworks, tools and approaches with Philippine normative guidelines and global best practices.
• Identify and engage specialized partners to fill technical gaps and ensure high‑quality performance.
• Develop and revise best‑practice documents, technical guidelines, and external communications.
• Monitor project budgets, prepare work plans, reports and publications, and provide thought‑leadership at the country level.
• Evaluate program effectiveness, produce technical assessment reports, and ensure timely reporting of all surveillance deliverables.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in epidemiology, disease surveillance and global health security programs.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑partner projects and budgets in a low‑resource setting.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills, with experience producing technical documents for government and donor audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership in coordinating cross‑sectoral teams and delivering results.
