Senior Legal Counsel – Corporate & Litigation

About the role

OceanaGold is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Makati office. You will ensure compliance with Philippine law and internal governance standards while supporting the company’s mining operations across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal strategies for litigation, regulatory compliance, labor issues and dispute resolution.
• Represent OceanaGold in court, negotiations, settlement discussions and grievance hearings.
• Manage a portfolio of legal matters, prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively.
• Conduct stakeholder mapping and recommend engagement strategies aligned with company standards.
• Maintain and strengthen external relationships to enhance OceanaGold’s influence and credibility.
• Identify opportunities to use stakeholder engagement for strategic benefit.
• Develop contractor management strategies, perform due‑diligence and act as liaison for contractual disputes.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Law.
• Demonstrated behaviour consistent with OceanaGold values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Performance and Teamwork.
• Proven experience in corporate, litigation and regulatory matters, preferably in the mining or natural resources sector.
