Senior Claims and Variation Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior Claims and Variation Engineer to lead the management of claims, variation orders and provisional sums on a construction project in San Fernando, Pampanga. The role involves coordinating with project teams, preparing documentation and negotiating with clients or consultants to secure approvals and payments.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyse and submit claims, variation orders and provisional interface sums.
• Lead a team of engineers in preparing, defending and negotiating claims related to time extensions, cost overruns and unforeseen conditions.
• Collect and validate supporting evidence, maintain accurate records and update project cost tracking.
• Review variation requests for validity, assess impact on schedule and budget, and ensure proper documentation.
• Negotiate approval and payment of claims and variations with clients/consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing cost and variations in construction projects.
• Strong background in contract management, cost analysis and technical documentation.
• Detail‑oriented with strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
