Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will oversee ACCIONA Energía’s accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury and investment management, ensuring compliance with Philippine regulations and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities, ensuring accurate journal entries, accruals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage daily cash position, liquidity, short‑ and long‑term cash‑flow forecasts and optimise working‑capital utilization.
• Oversee investment accounting for time deposits, money‑market placements and other financial assets, preparing portfolio reports and fair‑value adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine tax regulations, prepare income‑tax returns and support BIR audits.
• Act as a key user of SAP Financial Accounting, Treasury and General Ledger modules, reviewing transactions and supporting system enhancements.
• Supervise junior accountants, provide coaching and coordinate with auditors, banks and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• CPA or equivalent accounting qualification with 5‑8 years of progressive experience.
• Proven experience in Philippine corporate accounting, treasury management, investment accounting and tax compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work under tight month‑end deadlines.

Required skills

• SAP ERP (FI, Treasury, GL) – key user.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, financial modelling, dashboard reporting).
• Cash‑flow forecasting, liquidity and loan management.
• Investment accounting and fair‑value measurement under PFRS/IFRS.
