Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support high‑quality mechanical engineering designs for water, wastewater and environmental projects. Working under the Mechanical Design Lead, the role involves equipment sizing, specification preparation, procurement support and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical design deliverables, perform basic to intermediate equipment sizing calculations (e.g., pump TDH, blower pressure, ventilation requirements) and develop layout drawings.
• Assist in creating and maintaining equipment lists, specifications and data sheets based on client, process and site requirements.
• Review supplier technical offers, prepare technical comparison tables, and support post‑PO activities such as vendor drawing checks and document approvals.
• Provide mechanical inputs for cost estimation, quantity take‑off and proposal preparation, identifying basic design or cost optimisation opportunities.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, instrumentation and process engineers to resolve interface issues and ensure design consistency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; licensed Mechanical Engineer is an advantage.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably on water treatment, wastewater treatment or related industrial projects.
• Familiarity with Philippine codes and relevant international standards (ISO, API, ASME, IEC).

Required skills

• Mechanical equipment sizing and basic calculations.
• Preparation of equipment datasheets and technical specifications.
• Basic vendor technical document review.
• CAD/3D tools – AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks (basic to intermediate level).
