Legal Counsel – Litigation

About the role

GCash is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its legal team. You will lead a wide range of civil, criminal, and administrative cases, ensuring the company’s interests are protected while supporting its fast‑growing FinTech operations.

Key responsibilities

• Handle diverse litigation matters from case initiation through trial or settlement.
• Develop and execute effective litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts and ensure legal documents are accurate and compliant.
• Represent GCash before courts, quasi‑judicial and administrative bodies.
• Provide legal advice across business units and monitor legislative changes.
• Conduct legal research, assess risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Communicate with internal clients, external parties and address legal inquiries promptly.
• Participate in professional development and perform additional tasks assigned by senior legal leadership.

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB or JD) with at least 7 years of litigation experience.
• Proven track record handling criminal cases, including filing, prosecution and defense.
• Strong organizational skills, high ethical standards, attention to detail and self‑motivation.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for hearings.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
