Experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper (Remote)

About the role

Our client, a growing US‑based financial consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to support multiple client accounts. You will work remotely, collaborating closely with the founder to maintain accurate books, ensure compliance, and prepare for tax filing.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for diverse clients.
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet accounts with high precision.
• Review and categorize transactions according to US GAAP and best practices.
• Prepare month‑end workpapers, reconciliations, and support tax‑preparation workflows.
• Use QuickBooks Online as primary software; occasional work in Xero and ProConnect.
• Investigate discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and keep client books audit‑ready.
• Communicate financial questions and process improvements to the founder.

Required profile

• Extensive experience providing accounting services for US‑based companies.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proven track record as an Accountant with multiple years at the same employer or client.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation and month‑end close.
• Ability to apply sound accounting judgment and strong attention to detail.
