APAC Counsel – Offboarding & Litigation

About the role

We are looking for an APAC Counsel specialized in offboarding and litigation to lead all Philippines‑based termination, conciliation and court matters, while also supporting similar issues across the broader APAC region. The role combines deep employment‑law expertise with a client‑facing, solution‑oriented approach.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end offboarding, conciliation and litigation processes in the Philippines, including just‑cause terminations, redundancy, retrenchment and abscondment cases.
• Lead administrative hearings, manage Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) filings, and represent the company before DOLE SEnA and NLRC.
• Oversee offboarding and litigation matters in other APAC jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local labor statutes.
• Conduct case intake, fact‑finding and risk assessments for employee‑relations issues across APAC.
• Develop hearing strategies, assess exposure (reinstatement, back‑wages, damages) and provide commercially framed updates to stakeholders.
• Serve as primary liaison for external counsel, negotiate fees, timelines and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Collaborate with HR, Customer Success, Sales, Payroll, Onboarding and Product teams to improve offboarding workflows and embed legal requirements into the platform.

Required profile

• Extensive experience handling Philippine employment litigation and statutory due‑process matters.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑jurisdictional APAC labor issues.
• Strong analytical and commercial mindset with a proactive, solution‑driven attitude.
• Excellent communication skills for advising internal teams and external counsel.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Philippine labor law and APAC employment regulations.
• Experience with administrative hearings, conciliation, mediation and court litigation.
• Ability to draft defensible termination notices, position papers and supporting evidence.
