Accounting Assistant

About the role

The Accounting Assistant provides essential administrative and accounting support, ensuring that financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time. This role works closely with the finance team to maintain proper documentation, support payable and receivable processes, and assist with periodic closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record financial transactions accurately and timely.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accounting reports, schedules, and financial records.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Verify invoices, receipts, and other supporting documents.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain organized and accurate filing of accounting documents.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial closing activities.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors regarding billing and payment concerns.
• Support audit requirements by preparing requested schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other finance and accounting‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related role (advantageous).
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite (experience advantageous).
