Trackwork Technician – Rail Maintenance

About the role

The Trackwork Technician is responsible for maintaining the rail infrastructure of the MRT7 project on a rotating day‑and‑night schedule. You will conduct inspections, address failures promptly, and ensure the safety and reliability of both mainline and depot tracks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, and greasing of switch rails, checkrails, and guardrails.
• Carry out on‑foot inspections of mainline and depot tracks to detect wear, hazards, and internal rail cracks.
• Execute advanced technical assessments such as Track Geometry measurements and Ultrasonic Rail‑Defect Detection.
• Repair or replace loose or broken components, correct track alignment, and grind rail corrugations, logging all work in the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
• Act as a member of the Quick Response Team to minimise operational downtime and provide incident reports with root‑cause analysis.
• Support supply‑chain procedures, verify material quality, supervise third‑party contractors, and manage as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Ability to work rotating shifts, including night duties.
• Strong attention to detail for detecting subtle track defects.
• Experience working in a safety‑critical rail or infrastructure environment.
• Capability to produce clear incident and repair reports.
