About the role
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and engaging suppliers to meet the organization’s needs while controlling costs and ensuring compliance with policies. This role works closely with internal departments to align purchasing activities with overall business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Research and identify potential suppliers, conduct market research and background checks.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with existing and new suppliers.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that minimize cost and risk.
- Source, purchase, and track goods and services, ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
- Maintain comprehensive supplier database and procurement records.
- Monitor supplier performance against quality, delivery, and service level agreements.
- Coordinate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment with budgets and regulations.
- Prepare purchase orders, compare bids, and conduct canvassing from multiple suppliers.
