Postdoc in Logic & Symbolic AI for Computational Law

About the role

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a 24‑month postdoctoral position focused on logic and symbolic artificial intelligence for computational law and declarative business process management. The role is part of the XHAILe project, which aims to develop explainable hybrid AI solutions for e‑government and legal chatbots.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on logical and symbolic AI methods applied to computational law.
• Develop and evaluate declarative process‑management techniques, building on DCR Graphs.
• Collaborate with partners from the Faculty of Law, DTU Compute, and industry (DCR Solutions, KL, TietoEvry).
• Contribute to benchmarks, guidelines, and publications related to trustworthy AI in the public sector.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Logic, AI, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in logic, symbolic AI, or declarative decision and business‑process modelling.
• Experience with computational law is a strong advantage.
