About the role
The College Guidance Counselor provides comprehensive counseling, guidance, and wellness services that support students' personal, emotional, academic, social, career, and spiritual growth. Working within a faith‑centered environment, the role promotes mental wellness, resilience, healthy relationships, and responsible decision‑making through counseling, interventions, wellness programs, crisis support, and collaborative student‑care initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide academic, career, personal, and mental‑health counseling to students.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, wellness programs, seminars, and retreats.
- Support students in building resilience, self‑awareness, career discernment, and responsible decision‑making.
- Respond to crisis situations, coordinate referrals, and ensure timely support.
- Promote mental‑health awareness, inclusion, accessibility, and holistic wellness across campus.
- Collaborate with faculty, parents, campus ministry, and external professionals for comprehensive student support.
- Maintain confidential records, reports, and case documentation.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating guidance and wellness programs aligned with institutional values.

- Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling.
- Licensed Guidance Counselor.
- Preferred experience in counseling, student formation, or mental‑health support in educational settings.
- Experience with seminars, retreats, wellness programs, crisis intervention, and case management is an advantage.
- Exposure to faith‑based institutions, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives preferred.
Required skills
- Knowledge of counseling theories, student development, and mental‑health support.
- Skilled in counseling, crisis management, facilitation, and case management.
- Strong communication, conflict‑resolution, and program‑development abilities.
- Familiarity with ethical standards and confidentiality practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, parents, and external professionals.
