Construction Accounting Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Accounting Manager to lead and scale our accounting function within a fast‑growing construction management firm. You will ensure financial accuracy, provide operational insight, and develop processes that support all construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounting team, meeting 100% of critical month‑end deadlines.
• Oversee project accounting, including job costing, billing, and financial reporting with 95%+ accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure invoice processing and collections within 7 business days.
• Own month‑end and year‑end close cycles, achieving 98% reconciliation accuracy and on‑time delivery.
• Coordinate tax filings and work with external advisors for compliance.
• Produce timely financial reports and analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic planning on a monthly basis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience in construction industry accounting.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Acumatica ERP (or similar accounting systems).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Procore construction/project management software.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting regulations.
