Backend Developer – Remote Contract (up to $70/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. This contract, part‑time position is fully remote, offering flexible hours between 10‑40 per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in backend development using Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Deep understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
